Judith Rhue

Painting is Judith Rhue's passion. She is most comfortable when she is creating art. Her artwork is influenced by her unique experiences and worldwide travels.

"Ralph Waldo Emerson said, 'Earth Laughs in Flowers'. I know they make me smile. Shown is 'Bougainvillea on Gold', an unframed original oil painting on stretched cotton canvas (9" x 12" x 1.5 "). The bougainvillea in my yard inspired this painting."

Carol Tenwalde

"Designing and creating beautiful one-of-a-kind jewelry gives me such joy and added pleasure, knowing the wearer will receive lots of smiles and tons of compliments. Loving color and textures led me to invent a technique I call The Twisted Sister.  It's an amazing wire wrapping method that creates very sculptural pieces that lay flat on the neck and are virtually weightless."

Shown is a hand-blown clear glass bubble necklace. Pearls are twisted and connected to a gold plate rolo chain with a lobster clasp closure. The necklace measures 18".

Jan Downey

"The wonderful hard-shelled gourd is my 'canvas' for creating art in a contemporary folk art style. After a career in cultural anthropology, my artistic inspiration now comes from both the natural world and the amazing variety of cultural and artistic expression by human groups throughout the world. Some of my favorite techniques include wood burning, carving, and engraving. Embellishments can include beads, gourd shards, metal pieces, and prickly pear cactus 'lace'. I use ink dyes, alcohol inks, patinas, and occasionally acrylic paints to color my gourds, and all are sealed with a protective coating, allowing them to be enjoyed for many years."

Linda Lindus

Linda has been painting since she was a young child, and the visual scenery of the Southwest was an immense change from the days of her youth.  A deep passion for Arizona's diverse landscape, serves as the departure point for much of her art.

"Arizona's skies take on a glow in the high desert prairies, especially when following the spring rains. The state is more than a dusty desert land." Shown is "Prairie" which opens your mind to the magic and mystery found within Arizona's borders. It measures 12x12 (framed 14x14).

Judith Rothenstein-Putzer

Judith has been working with Alcohol Transfers embellished with pen and ink as a spin-off of her love of photography. Returning to the multi-sensory experiences of youth, discovering a new technique with each piece...what joy!

Alcohol Transfer is a technique that could best be described as a "hybrid between photography and printmaking." The process involves printing an original digital image onto a transparency and then pressing it onto printmaking paper which has been soaked in an alcohol solution. The piece that is shown is entitled "A beautiful day in the neighborhood."
