Good morning to you!
Friday, Oct. 30, 2026

Welcome to the Friday mailbag where you will find some of the comments, questions and ideas sent recently by readers of this newsletter or our publications. They are edited for space and clarity.

“What about ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’ (TV detectives, Oct. 21, 2026)?” - Gerlich

Good catch. Some people wear Superman pajamas. Superman wears Chuck Norris pajamas. - Shane

“You forgot ‘Peter Gunn,’ ‘Dragnet’ or, later, ‘Badge 714’ (TV detectives, Oct. 21, 2026). Fair winds and following seas.” - Becker

Just the facts. - Shane

“I’m a little disappointed that ‘Droopy, Master Detective’ didn’t make the initial list (TV detectives, Oct. 21, 2026). They planted the detective show seed in us at an early age.” - Jimmy

I was more of a Hong Kong Phooey guy. - Shane

“Shane, how could you not mention ‘NCIS’ (TV detectives, Oct. 21, 2026?. The original began in 2003 and still going. And all the spin-offs that just keep happening? Seems like it has been around forever, which lends itself to reruns. Just this morning, it is concurrently on four different cable channels, different eras, different shows, different cast. You can pick the cast and plot to watch AGAIN, whichever one that trips your trigger. When you are retired, you tend to notice these things.” - Diane

Point taken. - Shane

“My go-to detective was ‘Quincy, M.E.’ (TV detectives, Oct. 21, 2026). In fact, I have all episodes on DVR so I can watch anytime.” - Brichetto

It was a good show, from what I can remember, but I could never get past the Felix and Oscar stuff with Jack Klugman. - Shane

“Political commentary isn’t necessary (The recliner, Oct. 27, 2026).” - Herman

Hmmm. I read it three more times and still haven’t seen anything political. - Shane

Have a fantastic Friday, and thanks for reading.
