Valentina - HALO's Featured Dog

Hello! My name is Valentina. I got my name because HALO got me on Valentine's Day.  I'm a 7 year old Boxer who came to HALO from Maricopa Animal Care and Control.  HALO staff members saw that I had a badly injured foot, and they knew that meant I would probably end up being euthanized.  So lucky for me, they saved me and gave me a safe place to be with the medical attention I needed. What an amazing day for me!

HALO is not sure how I got injured, but it is believed that I got my foot stuck in either a fence or Coyote trap. My wound took 3 months of dedicated care to heal but now I am healthy and looking forward to spending my time with a family. I'm a very active sweet girl. I get along well with bigger submissive dogs but do not care for cats. I'm very good with children of all ages. I love walks and I love to give smooches! My adoption fee includes my spay, vaccines, dewormers, microchip, and a collar with tags. So stop by HALO today and visit me!

Here's my profile on the HALO website.

Bets for Pets Results

The Bets for Pets Poker Tournament and Game Night was a success!  It was a lot of fun, local animal-lovers went home with great prizes, and we raised $1,800 to help save the lives of dogs and cats in our community.

Congratulations to the Winners of the Poker Tournament:

1st Place and Winner of the Luxury Phoenix Staycation:

Kevin Kucifer

2nd Place and Winner of the Spa Day Getaway:

Keith Randall

3rd Place and Winner of the Date Night Gift Package:

Justin Pinckard

Everyone had a great time playing the $1 animal-themed carnival games.  Guests played the “Collar and Tag” Ring Toss, “Bring Fido Home” Plinko, “Dog Food Knockdown,” “Poop Scoop Golf” and more.  We gave away Gift Cards to the Cheesecake Factory, a one-night stay to the Firesky Resort in Scottsdale, passes to Phoenix Botanical Garden and the Phoenix Zoo, a Phoenix Coyotes Signed Photo, an Ultimate Pet Gift Basket, and more.

The net proceeds of the event came to $1,800 for the homeless dogs and cats at HALO Animal Rescue.  Yea!  If you were unable to attend and would like to help us help the animals, visit our donation page.
