This sweet boy came to HALO after a terrible run-in with a car. His leg was badly injured, so badly that the bone was exposed. He had terrible road rash and his poor leg, just hanging limply, had not been treated at all when he came to our shelter. We quickly gave him some pain meds so he wouldn't suffer and sent him to be checked out by our wonderful veterinarian, Dr. Campanile of Companion Pet Clinic.
His leg was broken in two places, so it was placed in a cast. Freeway also had to wear...the cone of shame. But Freeway was not ashamed! He felt so much better and was relieved that he was on his way to recovery!
He spent a long time in the home of one of HALO's devoted foster volunteers. She gave him a loving, relaxing environment to enjoy while he recuperated. Soon enough, after a few more vet visits, Freeway was all healed up!
Freeway was adopted!
Freeway found his new home at the big adoption event at PetSmart headquarters! We were sad to say goodbye, but so happy that he's now in his forever home! Here he is with his new family.
Thank you to those of you who have chosen to save a life by adopting a shelter pet!
